Senior Systems Engineer

Location: San Diego, CA (On-site)
Clearance: Active Secret clearance required (or ability to obtain)

Position Overview

32 North Solutions is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support programs at NAVWAR. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who can bridge technical execution and stakeholder coordination, and who is comfortable working in a fast-paced acquisition and systems engineering environment.

This role supports the full systems engineering lifecycle and works closely with government customers, prime contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide senior-level systems engineering support across the system lifecycle, including requirements development, architecture, integration, verification, and validation

  • Support NAVWAR programs through technical reviews, design assessments, and trade studies

  • Develop and manage system requirements, interface control documents, and technical baselines

  • Analyze system performance, risks, and impacts to cost, schedule, and technical objectives

  • Support integration and test planning, execution, and issue resolution

  • Interface directly with government engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders

  • Prepare technical documentation, briefings, and reports for leadership and customer review

  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to process improvement efforts

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field

  • 10+ years of systems engineering experience (Navy experience strongly preferred)

  • Strong understanding of government acquisition and systems engineering processes

  • Experience working with requirements management tools and technical documentation

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across diverse technical teams

  • Active Secret clearance (must be able to obtain and maintain higher clearance if required)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting NAVWAR or other Navy C4ISR or communications systems

  • Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and approaches

  • Experience with integration and test activities in operational or lab environments

  • Prior experience working with or supporting prime contractors

  • Active TS/SCI clearance

Junior Systems Engineer

Location: San Diego, CA (On-site)
Clearance: Active Secret clearance required (or ability to obtain)

Position Overview

32 North Solutions is seeking a Junior Systems Engineer to support programs at NAVWAR. The ideal candidate is an early-career engineer eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced acquisition and systems engineering environment.

This role supports systems engineering activities across the lifecycle and works closely with senior engineers, government customers, prime contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support systems engineering activities across the system lifecycle, including requirements development, integration, verification, and validation

  • Assist with technical reviews, design assessments, and trade studies

  • Help develop and maintain system requirements, interface documentation, and technical baselines

  • Support analysis of system performance, risks, and impacts to cost, schedule, and technical objectives

  • Assist with integration and test planning, execution, and issue tracking

  • Interface with government engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders under guidance

  • Prepare technical documentation, briefings, and reports

  • Support senior engineers and participate in process improvement efforts

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field

  • 0–3 years of engineering or technical experience (internships or co-ops acceptable)

  • Basic understanding of systems engineering concepts and processes

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

  • Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship or prior experience supporting Navy or government programs

  • Exposure to requirements management tools or technical documentation

  • Familiarity with C4ISR, communications, or related systems

  • Experience working in a lab, integration, or test environment
